Description

Exquisite Corpse collaboration with the great artist :iconmarcgosselin:

He created the left half covered it with only a small strip to see and I finished the right half.

Please fav and comment Marc's half over here: [link]

This is a very impressive drawing. My favorite part of this drawing is how balanced it feels. I don't think I've ever seen a two person exquisite corpse. The composition is cohesive despite this being collaboration and having a clear stylistic shift. That being said, both sides are excellently rendered. The chimps have an amazing texture and great expressions on their faces with very soulful eyes. On the right side, the creatures have a more cartoon-like quality, but they still have great volume and texture and are very engaging. The drawing is well organized compositionally, with the large shapes to the left being balanced out by the busier, smaller shapes to the right. I know you guys couldn't have planned that, but never the less it works. The two styles meld together real well; I don't feel as if one side demands more attention than the other. I can't think of anything that would improve this.

I especially like the zoo sign that breaks the border; it redirects the eye in the composition out of the sometimes problematic lower right corner and is funny.
